What this service does
Daily Briefs follows press sources for a set of topics, writes one short summary per topic every morning, and voices it. The summaries are published on this site and delivered on Telegram to the readers who follow the topic.
Account and acceptance
Using the site means accepting these terms. Following a topic needs an account, opened with an address you control and a password you keep to yourself. What is done through yours is your responsibility, so keep the password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it.
What you may not do
The service is small and runs on a fixed budget. The following takes it away from other readers:
- Automating access, collecting the briefs in bulk, or reselling them.
- Reaching for an account, a job or an administration page that is not yours.
- Probing, overloading or working around the rate limits and other protections.
- Using the service for anything unlawful, or to send anyone content that is.
Suspension and closure
An account that does one of the above can be suspended or closed, without notice where the service itself is at risk. You can ask for yours to be closed at any time by writing to us, and the briefs stop the next morning.
Availability
The service is provided as it is, with no guarantee of uptime and none that a brief will be produced on a given morning. A source can stop answering, a run can fail, and maintenance can interrupt the site. A missed brief gives no right to compensation.
Editorial responsibility
A brief is written by a language model from articles published by press outlets, then voiced by a speech model. It is a summary and nothing more: it can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Every brief lists the articles it was written from — those are the source, and the ones to read before acting on anything. Nothing here is advice of any kind.
Intellectual property
The articles a brief is written from belong to the outlets that published them: we link to them and never republish them. The site, its name and the briefs it produces belong to the publisher. Quoting a brief with a link back is welcome; republishing it wholesale is not.
Personal data
What is collected, why, how long it is kept and how to have it erased is set out in full in the privacy policy.
Changes
These terms change as the service does. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date at the top of this page says when it last moved.
Governing law
French law governs these terms. Any dispute goes before the French courts, once we have tried to settle it by writing to each other.
This page is a translation. Where the two diverge, the French version prevails.
